First Generation Kindergarten Empty First Generation Kindergarten

Post by HowlingWolf Sun May 10, 2015 7:29 pm

"Greetings children and guardians! I would like to welcome you to this years orientation ceremony for the First Generation Kindergarten, and to say how happy I am that you found this place." A man stood at a podium in front at the front of a gymnasium. He was tall, well built, and looked young, but he had wisdom in his eyes that showed he had many, many years of experience on his hands. His hair was light brown that was only slightly darker than his tanned skin and he had dark, forest green eyes.

"First Generation Kindergarten was founded by me to provide any children that aregifted, for lack of a better term, with a safe environment to train their abilities, intellectual or physical. While no one at this school is as extraordinary as these kids are -although some can come pretty close- the teachers here are able to provide an education like no other." His tone was light, mysterious, and cautious at the same time and his eyes were constantly flicking around, scanning the crowd of people in front of him over and over.

"But then again, all of you already know this, considering you are the ones who applied your children or child to this school." He smiled as he looked down on the clusters of kids before going back to the adults. "And since I have now pretty much checked this vicinity of people about three times and the teachers stationed around you have too, to see if any...unwelcome guests were here, I can stop using words to get around the true subject of this school."

He paused, glancing around again before continuing, "First Generation Kindergarten is not for humans, as you know. It is for small children who are magical in some way, shape, or form. Whether it be a child who can talk to animals or a child who can become animals, this school will train them to harness their magic. It will also protect them from the people that are trying to hunt them down and use them, specifically the government. Only some of you knew that, I should guess, but seeing as you all read the 135 page long introduction sent to all of those that applied..." A lot of the adults shifted uneasily at that, which caused the man to smile again, "However, to those that didnt know, just know this: even if you had not applied to this school, or want to pull them out because you dont want your child to get taken, trust me when I say that the government will find them, no matter what you do.

"Leaving your child here is the best bet that you could have. Most of our staff has magical abilities and will lay down their life to protect the children. After all, magical children are the most powerful supernatural beings you could ever encounter. For those of you who dont know, children of a supernatural line have an abundant amount of magic locked away in their systems. They are much more powerful at a younger age than when they are older. As they age, they learn to control their magic more and arent able to release it in the extreme qualities a child can.

"Let me put it this way: if a fully trained, very old and powerful being, like a dragon, faced off with a young child, the child, if it had the ability to summon all their energy and release it in the way they wanted, might just have a chance at defeating the dragon. But, with them being in kindergarten, they dont have the ability to focus their magic into one area. Instead, it comes in quick bursts at seemingly random times." He paused and laughed, his voice ringing out like a bell.

"Well, look at me, just rambling on! I tend to do that sometimes. However, enough with my chatter, lets spend some time to meet everyone!"

~~~~~~~~~~
First Generation Kindergarten Empty Re: First Generation Kindergarten
Post by HowlingWolf Sun May 10, 2015 9:17 pm
Name: Jasmine Ever
Nickname (optional): Jaza
Age: 4
Gender: Female
Student or Teacher: Student
Guardian (if student): Mary Livingstone (<-- Dont ask)
Picture or Detailed Description: (Look Below) She is the one on the right
Personality: Quiet, somewhat reserved, always has to be with her brother, usually tries not to draw attention to herself, not timid, persistent, pretty much does what she wants
Ethnic Group: White
How you found FGK: They were found with an advertisement to the school inside their box
Abilities: She is part dragon. Dark, forest green wings are growing out of her back, not fully grown yet, but growing more every day. Some days, her skin will look slightly scaly in appearance but will go back to normal either in a few hours or by the next day. She can breathe fire sometimes, but for now, its only when the attacks occur.
Siblings (if any) attending FGK: Jasper Ever
Special Needs (Medical, or otherwise): None. Although teachers usually keep a fire extinguisher in the room just in case an attack causes a desk or carpet to catch on fire.
Concerns we should know about: Both of the twins get these attacks at various periods in the day and quite often. Their eyes will turn bright, lightning yellow with slit pupils and their teeth will grow incredibly sharp. Sometimes their nails also elongate and curl into sharp points as hard as iron, and their skin will become scaly. Their breath will also get extremely hot, sometimes able to scorch anything nearby, and their skin will become very warm. After a few minutes, the symptoms fade and usually revert back to their human appearance.
Past History: Both of the twins were found on the doorstep of Marys house as babies, wrapped up tightly with each other in a box. They were left in the dead of winter and it was snowing. If Mary hadnt rushed out of the door when she did, having forgotten something at her office, the babies would have more than likely died. It was lucky when she brought them in that they werent sick. Although Mary sent out flyers, put ads in the paper, and called the police to check the missing children reports, no one came back to reclaim the twins and Mary decided to just keep them herself. When they grew older, Mary realized that they were no ordinary children. Instead of casting them out, she supported them.
Other: Whenever going out into public, Mary hides the twins wings. After doing it for half a year, she has become quite proficient at it. However, when they are going to school, she likes dressing them in clothes where their wings are exposed, so that they can grow out properly instead of being crammed inside of a tight space. The only way she can tell them apart (by looks) is because she got them each a bracelet. For Jasmine, it is silver and for Jasper, it is gold.
Siblings (if any) attending FGK: Jasmine Ever
Special Needs (Medical, or otherwise): (Look above)
First Generation Kindergarten Empty Re: First Generation Kindergarten
Post by HowlingWolf Mon May 11, 2015 11:25 pm
"Mama, do we have to go to school? Won't the other kids make fun of us for our wings?" The small girl asked, looking up at her adoptive mother with her startling blue eyes. She looked exactly like her brother, except for the fact that she always wore a silver bracelet around her slim wrist.
At the moment, she was dressed in simple clothing that consisted of a grey shirt and tan shorts, with her brother wearing the same thing. The thing that set them apart though, was the fact that on both of them, dark green dragon wings were bursting out of their shoulder blades. The shirts had slits cut into the backs to allow the wings to pass through the fabric.
Their guardian, Mary, smiled as she straightened up from finishing putting the girl's twin brother's wings through the slits in the shirt. "No, Jaza," she said kindly to the small girl, using the fond nickname that she had dubbed from her longer name of Jasmine. "This is a school where you can be entirely yourselves. They won't judge you, no matter what you do. You can even light a desk on fire accidentally and they won't be angry.
"You will be meeting many other kids with abilities that set them apart from other people as well."
"Are you sure, Mama?" The boy spoke up, turning to Mary and looking into her chocolate brown eyes. "Are you sure they won't make fun of us?"
Mary smiled again. "I'm sure, Jazz." She answered, using the nickname for Jasper as well. "Now, let's go get into the car. You don't want to be late on your first day!" She grabbed both of their hands before herding them out the door and into the car.
She didn't have to worry about people seeing them because the trees that surrounded the property were so thick, even though she had neighbors living right next to her property, they weren't able to see the slightest glimpse in. "Off we go!" She said cheerfully to the twins, who were sitting in the back seat.
~~*~~
"Alex, come on dear, we have to go!" Emily Sanders called to her adoptive daughter. After a moment, a small brown puppy came racing down the stairs, yipping excitedly in a human voice. "I'm coming Mom, I'm coming!"
Even as the puppy was leaping down the stairs one at a time, it began growing bigger and changing shape until it was a young girl with silver hair, pale skin, and black eyes. She was dressed all in black, that made her hair seem even shinier and when she reached the bottom of the stairs and stood to her full height, she was taller than most five year olds.
"Sorry for being late, Mom!" She said, dashing to her mother's side and hugging her waist. "I had become a puppy and couldn't get out of my door!" Her voice still had a slight puppy-ish tone to it but after a few moments, it faded.
Emily laughed and gently squeezed her daughter's shoulder. "It's fine, dear. Now let's go. You will have a lot of fun at this school."
Alex nodded and bounced on the balls of her feet excitedly. Her mom had already told her all about this school dozens of times and how she could be herself there. It wouldn't be abnormal to suddenly become a fox in the classroom.
Hardly containing herself, the small girl waited for her mother to gather her things and open the door to head out to the car. Alex reached the door and climbed in long before her mother made it and when she finally did, Alex was smiling and lost in her thoughts of how the day might turn out.
First Generation Kindergarten Empty Re: First Generation Kindergarten
Post by WolfStorm Mon May 11, 2015 11:27 pm
Liz sighed as her mom continued to mess with the ribbons in Liz's hair. Then fiddle with her dress. Then fuss over a 'smudge' that she was sure she could see. After another 5 minutes Liz pushed her mom's hands away. "Mom stop. It's not like they'll be able to see me. Unless I talk to them, they'll just look right through me."
Her mom, Mary, sighed and moved one more strand of blonde, almost transparent, hair from her face. "I know dear, but you've spent so much time out of the graveyard and I think you're more visible than you think."
Liz walked down the stone path of the graveyard toward the pond, where the morning mist was still lingering. When she reached the pond she looked into it, trying to see her reflection. It looked exactly how it had the last hundred or so years she had been looking into it. She wouldn't change in appearance no matter how much time passed.
She had been sitting still long enough to see a few frogs hop right through her, but they scattered when noisy footsteps were heard from the path she had just left. She didn't need to turn to see who it was. "What are you doing out here Will?"
Her 3 year old brother stumbled up the path, making as much noise as if he had been alive. No animals were around anymore. He came to a stop beside her, kicking up some rocks into the pond and yawning. "Why you up early?"
Liz patted his head and took his hand, walking back toward their grave site. "I'm going away for a little while. I'll come back." Her 3 year old brother didn't argue with her as she led him back to where their parents were waiting.
After hugging her father and brother, they both disappeared into the ground, where their coffins were, and left Liz with her mother. "Come dear, I'll walk you to the gate." As much as her mother would have liked to go, she would never leave the graveyard. Bother her parents believed that the dead belonged away from the living.
However, they couldn't convince their daughter and grudgingly let her go to the school. So Mary Butler led Elizabeth Butler to the old graveyard gates and Liz walked through them, literally, out into the living world. She knew where the school was and she knew quick ways to get there.
First Generation Kindergarten Empty Re: First Generation Kindergarten
"Aren't you guys excited?" Mary asked from the front seat of the car as she looked in the rear-view mirror at the two siblings, both of whom were wearing twin expressions on their faces and not particularly happy ones at that. She had been talking practically since the car started moving and both Jasmine and Jasper thought that she was going to yak their ears off.
"Of course we are, Mama." Jasper replied, only identifiable by the gold bracelet around his wrist. "It's just that we are scared. What if the other kids tease us for our wings or-"
He was interrupted by his sister's cough and when he turned to her, her eyes had turned bright yellow with black slits as the pupils. Her teeth had also grown into points and her skin took on a scaly appearance.
"Oh, onto the board sweetie, onto the board." Mary called from the front, gesturing to something in the pouch of the seat in front of them.
Wordlessly, Jasper reached forwards and grabbed it for his sister, handing it to her as she coughed again, this time her breath going onto the inch-thick wood. Where her breath touched, the wood blackened from the heat.
After a few more coughs, they subsided and her features returned to normal. As if nothing happened, Jasmine leaned forwards and slid the board back into the seat pouch.
"Or that happens?" Jasper finished, taking his sister's hand.
"Don't worry Jazz. This school is for people just like you. You don't need to worry about teasing."
~~*~~
"We're here, we're here!" Alex chanted excitedly as they pulled into a parking space. As soon as her mother opened the door and took her hand, she started practically dragging her through the doors. She had never been this excited for school before but after her guardian had told her what it was about, she couldn't help but feel happy to finally be considered normal.
When they entered the designated classroom, Alex saw that she was the first one there, besides the teacher. Upon seeing the teacher, she grinned and darted over to him, bouncing up and down in front of him.
"I remember you! You were the one who saved us from that man and told us about this place! I never thought I would see you again! What's your name? Are you our teacher? Can I pet your bird? Are you-"
"Alex, that's enough." Emily scolded lightly. Looking back up at the teacher's dark grey eyes, she extended her hand to shake. "Good morning, my name is Emily Sanders and this is my adopted daughter Alex. I believe we met before but I never caught your name."
Liz walked down the sidewalk, mostly invisible to the human eye. If there happened to be an observant person on the street, they may have noticed the outline of a girl in an old style dress, but most people just walked right through her, literally.
She didn't mind though. She just walked on, looking at the people that were so absorbed in their own lives. It was just like she had always done. Watched the people go about their days while she just walked around. Of course, she actually had a destination in mind that day. Sometimes she would mess with people, bump into them so they would feel it or laugh so they could hear it. Nothing too serious, but pretty entertaining.
After a while of just walking and watching, she reached the school she was looking for. She took a deep breath as she looked it over. She was pretty nervous, but she had to do this. It was important to her and her parents. After looking the school over, she walked into the building, looking around again and making herself more visible to anyone who happened to look her way.
^*^
Daniel turned his head when he heard footsteps outside his room, followed by the appearance of a couple familiar faces. He set his book down on his desk, next to a perch where his crow, Morker, was sitting, and turned to greet them. "Good morning Ms. Sanders. Alex."
As he spoke to her mother, Morker spread his wings and dove from his perch, landing on the ground and hopping toward Alex. Daniel looked at Alex, "That's Morker and he does love attention, but don't pull his feathers. A crow's appearance is what they are most proud of."
He turned back to Emily and smiled, shaking her hand, "My name is Daniel Rayne, but you just call me Daniel or Mr. Rayne. I'm not too picky when it comes to what the student's parents call me."
"Do you have everything out of the car?" Mary asked as she herded the twins out of the door after she parked in the school parking lot.
"Mama, we didn't bring anything with us." Jasmine said, tugging on her adopted-mother's hand to get her away from the car, where she stood frozen in place.
After a moment, Mary said, "I'd better check, just in case." Stepping forwards, she leaned inside the car door to see if anything was in there. "Okay, i guess not." She admitted before being almost literally pulled out by the siblings.
"Come on Mama." They said simultaneously before each grabbing her hand and hauling her behind them. When they got through the front doors, Jasmine's hands twinged with excitement.
"Jazz, look at that right in front of us! It looks like a girl! Could that be one of our classmates?" She asked, looking at her brother.
"Only one way to find out." He replied and grinned. They both tugged their hands free from Mary's and ran over to the ghost girl. "Hi, we were just wondering if you were a ghost or not. You certainly look like one."
~~*~~
Alex squealed in excitement as the crow hopped over to her. Instantly, she bent down, stroking the smooth feathers on his back. Closing her eyes, she concentrated for a moment before saying to him in the perfect crow tongue, "Hello Morker!"
Emily smiled down at Alex before looking back to the young teacher. "Just Emily or Dr. Sanders. Ms. Sanders makes me feel old." She replied, giving a small chuckle.
"Are you the students' teacher? I can honestly say that I didn't expect that when we first unofficially met."
Liz was slightly startled when she when she heard feet running up behind her and then heard a greeting. She was even more surprised when she turned and it seemed like she was looking at the same person twice. Twins, of course, but not what she had been expecting.
She smiled shyly at them as she nodded. "I am a ghost, yes. My name is Elizabeth, but most people just call me Liz. I mean, if most people could actually see and talk to me." She tilted her head slightly as she looked them over. "Are you two going to go to this school too?"
She was a little excited at the thought of already meeting some other students, who at least seemed somewhat interested in her. It would save time when she was trying to meet more people. Maybe she had already met some of her future friends.
^*^
Morker let out a squawk of surprise at a human girl speaking his own crow language. He hopped away before hopping back and squawking again, opening his wings slightly. It wasn't a threatening move, it seemed more like a suspicious and confused one. After a moment of observing her, he hopped back to her and flew up, landing on her shoulder.
Daniel kept his eye on Morker as he continued his conversation with Emily. He smiled again, "Alright, Emily. I am going to be one of the teachers here. Of course, there are others, but I don't blame you for not guessing that I was a teacher. I don't really look the part I guess."
"It's nice to meet you Liz!" Both of the twins said at the same time. "We've never met a ghost before!"
Jasmine looked at her brother at the same time he looked at her before they continued speaking at the same time:
"Stop saying what I'm saying!"
"No, you stop it!"
"Quit it!
"Fine!"
They both scowled at each other before remembering that their mom was still behind them.
"Bye Mama, you don't have to stay!" Jasper called out, seeing Mary falter in her steps as if unsure whether or not to go.
"We'll be fine! We'll see you after school." Jasmine reassured.
Convinced by them, Mary turned around and started to leave, looking back every few steps. There would be plenty of time to meet the teachers later, especially considering other parents might want to meet them. Plus, she had to get to work. "Bye Jazz and Jaza!"
The twins waved goodbye before turning back to Liz. "I'm Jasmine, or Jaza as my mom likes to call me." The one on the left said. "And this-"
"I'm Jasper. I'm called Jazz." The one on the right interrupted. "And yes, we will be coming here for school."
"Obviously you're a ghost, which is why you came here, but we are here because we are dragons!" Jasmine said.
~~*~~
Alex giggled happily as the crow landed back on her shoulder before she squawked and started to shrink. Her clothes disappeared as feathers sprouted all over her body and soon she was slightly smaller than Morker but looked almost exactly the same.
"Well, you do look young." Emily said. "Oh, and I almost forgot. I want to thank you for saving us from that mugger. Who knows what he would have done if you hadn't come along. Alex could have become test subject number one in a science lab."
She glanced down at her adopted daughter, who had now become a crow and was standing next to Morker. Deeming it not a threat to anyone's safety, she looked back up at Daniel.
Liz looked back and forth at the twins as they both spoke. It amazed her how they could speak together like that without actually meaning to. She blinked at them, trying to keep up with their conversation. She couldn't help but laugh slightly as they finished speaking.
"Wow that's amazing! I've never really seen dragons before. I mean, in pictures and stuff." She looked behind her toward the school. "You want to go in with me? We could see what other students are here. Maybe there are more dragons!"
She turned and walked into the school, her feet hardly touching the ground as she walked in. She was even more excited now that she had net two of the students. They both seemed really nice. "So, can you guys turn into dragons and breathe fire and fly?"
^*^
Morker cawed in surprise and looked at the smaller crow in front of him, tilting his head to the side as he examined her. He hopped in a circle around her, not really sure what to think and still acting a little suspicious.
Daniel shrugged slightly. "He was just another low life criminal. Even if I hadn't been there, no one would have believed anything he said." He glanced down where the student and Morker had been. Now there were just two crows. He chuckled slightly at the sight of his own crow looking at the other one.
"At least here, they won't have to worry about things like that. They'll learn to control their powers instead of being discovered and taken to a lab somewhere." Daniel was still looking down at the two crows, speaking distantly as he watched what they were doing.
"Really? You think so?" Th twins said in unison at her comment about how maybe there were more dragons.
"Wow, that would be so cool if there were...we've never seen any other dragons like us before." Jasmine said, looking up at the ceiling at the thought of it. "And sure! Let's go in together!"
As they started walking, the ghost girl in between them even though it was impossible to tell them apart and they looked like mirror images.
"No, we can't exactly change into dragons. Or at least, not yet. We only have dragon qualities and-" Jasper began before his eyes changed to gold and his fingernails grew to claws. His skin also took on a scaly look and feel as his pupils slit. He coughed into his sleeve and when he drew it away, the sleeve was blackened and charred.
"-and we have these kind of attacks where we change more into a dragon." Jasmine finished, gesturing to her brother. "Our wings are still growing though." She added, turning so Liz could see the wings growing on her back.
~~*~~
Alex cawed happily before jumping a few times and flapping her wings a little. After a moment, she flapped harder and managed to make it into the air before falling back down onto the floor on her taloned feet.
Cocking her head, she looked at Morker, as if asking him to show him how he flew.
"Well, even so, you still helped us." Emily said. "And that's what I'm slightly worried about. Are you positive that this school is safe and protected? I want Alex to be safe. I know the best place for her is here, but I'm still a little hesitant."
Liz shrugged slightly, not really knowing if there were other dragons or not. "I haven't been in yet, so I don't know... I doubt there are other ghosts, though."
She turned her head to look at the twin, Jasper?, as he started to change. It was amazing to her and she had never seen anything like it.
"Wow that's so cool! It doesn't hurt or anything to change like that?" She looked over the twin who was now covered in scales and had claws. Also a burnt sleeve. She was glad that her parents let her go to this school. There were probably a lot of other students with cool powers like shape shifting or fire-breathing.
^*^
Morker puffed out his chest slightly when he realized that this new crow didn't know exactly how to fly. He was always willing to show off. He turned back to the desk, jumping and flapping his wings a few times to lift him up onto the desk.
Once he was on the desk, he spread his wings and jumped from the desk. He glided easily over to one of the tables where students were supposed to sit and turned back to the smaller crow, cawing at her.
Daniel watched the two crows as he thought about his reply. He didn't want to lie and say this was the safest place on earth, no place was really. However, he didn't want one of the parents to worry too much either.
"I have personally checked it over a time or two and I will be going through the school once every day or two just to be safe. Trust me, on the off chance that something did happen, I would protect them with my life."
His quiet voice was reassuring, though he spoke seriously. It was part of his job to protect them and he was sure that the other teachers would to the same for them.
Alex watched carefully the way that Morker flew before flapping her wings again. This time, she managed to make it up another few inches before falling back down to the ground. Just as she was about to try again, she felt someone scoop her up into their hands. She squawked in protest, looking back to see her mother.
"Thank you, Daniel." Emily said warmly. "I believe you completely. So now I can leave knowing my daughter is safe."
She looked down at the crow in her hands and said, "Alex, that crow can give you flying lessons later. Right now, it's time for school. Try not to cause too much trouble here, okay?"
Alex nodded, stepping out when she mother set her down on a desk. She closed her eyes and concentrated, changing back into a human again. "Bye Mom!" She said, hugging her around the neck.
Emily smiled again and nodded to Daniel before exiting the room, passing three other kids just about to enter.
~~*~~
Jasper shook his head. "Not in the slightest!" He exclaimed. He felt a tug on his wrist and moved out of the way with his sister when a woman walked out of the door, smiling at them before going out the entrance to the school.
"So I guess we can go in now!" Jasmine said, dragging her twin through the door and seeing another girl already in there. She looked even odder than them, if that was possible.
The girl had long silver hair with nearly white skin and black eyes so dark that the twins could even see the pupil. She also wore all black, making her hair seem to glow.
There was a tall man, probably the teacher, with black hair and grey eyes. Other than that, no other kids were there yet.
Liz walked beside the twins, getting used to their strange ways pretty quickly. They weren't too different, aside from the more obvious details, but she just wasn't used to being around twins. Especially ones that were so alike.
When they entered the room, Liz noticed that the two had moved to the side. She looked forward again to see someone walking toward them, about to leave. Instead of moving out of the way, Liz closed her eyes and almost completely disappeared. If someone had known she was there, they still would have seen a slight outline. The woman that was going through the door ended up walking right through her.
Liz opened her eyes again and went back to her normal form, which was only slightly transparent. Having people walk through her hardly bothered her anymore. At first, it seemed strange, but she had gotten over that pretty quickly. Walking through crowds, it was hard to avoid every single person.
She also found it funny when they walked through her and got a cold chill. They would stop and look around, confused. Especially if it was a hot summer day. She didn't really enjoy 'haunting' people and actually scaring them, but confusing them was something that didn't seem as bad.
Liz walked into the classroom a little further, recognizing the man that was standing in the room. She didn't know who the girl was, but she walked up to them anyway. "Hey you talked to my parents about this place! You're the one who convinced them to let me come here!" She was happy to recognize someone else here.
^*^
Daniel watched as Emily walked out of the room and passed some other students. He recognized the ghost girl, Elizabeth. He smiled at the new students as they entered his classroom. "Welcome to your new classroom."
He watched as Liz ran up to him and he nodded to her. "Yes, convincing your parents wasn't exactly easy. They are very protective of you." Liz smiled, thinking about how much her parents cared, even though she had proven she could leave the graveyard.
Liz waved slightly to the girl who had already been in the classroom. "Hi I'm Liz. What's your name?" As Liz spoke to Alex, Daniel walked over to the two other students, the twins. They were two new faces that he hadn't actually met yet.
"Hello kids, I don't believe we've met. I'm Mr. Rayne." Daniel wondered vaguely what exactly their powers were, but he would find out all of his students' potential once he started the class. One of the things he was planning on doing was helping them to control their powers.
"Hello, Mr. Rayne!" The twins chorused, looking up at him with their big blue eyes.
"I'm Jaza!" One of them said while the other said just a split second later, "And I'm Jazz!"
Within moments they both were back to speaking together. "Our mom told us to tell you that she said hello. We didn't want her to come in so she stayed in the car."
~~*~~
"Wow, cool!" Alex exclaimed as the girl came over, instantly over her disappointed mood of her mother telling her to turn back into a human. "Are you a ghost? That's so awesome! I've never met a ghost before! But then again, I've never gone to a cemetery. Isn't that where ghosts live? Or do they live in haunted places too?
"Oh, and my name's Alex. It's nice to meet you, Liz!"
Daniel watched the twins as they spoke, speaking like they had rehearsed it a dozen times before. He had never seen twins that were so connected that way. When they were done speaking, he didn't really know what to say about them not wanting their mom to come in.
He cleared his throat slightly before speaking again and gesturing to the classroom. "Well welcome to the class. More students should be arriving soon then class will start. Until then, it would be a good idea to get to know your new classmates."
Liz laughed as she talked to the new girl, Alex. "It's nice to meet you too! And I don't know if ghosts live in houses after they die. I don't usually try to meet ghosts, I like to go out and see the living. That's kind of why I'm here!"
Liz examined Alex for a moment, wondering what her powers were. "What exactly is it that you do? I mean what kind of powers do you have?"
Jasper and Jasmine nodded eagerly and practically bounded over to where Liz and the silver haired girl was. "Hello! We're Jazz and Jaza!" They chorused.
Alex's eyes widened in delight at the twins but just as she opened her mouth to answer, two more kids, a boy and a girl came in. The girl had sea foam green hair and violet eyes while the boy had gold eyes and spiky bright orange hair like flames.
As they came over, the boy shouted, "I AM THE BLAZE!"
While the girl answered in a bored voice, "No he isn't."
"MY NAME IS BLAZE!"
"His name is Ryan."
"CALL ME BLAZE!"
"Call him Ryan."
Daniel watched as two more kids came in. For the time, they were all busy talking to each other and he was fine with that. He wasn't planning on starting class right away so he walked back toward his desk at the front of the room. Once he sat down, Morker hopped up onto the perch that was on the desk. Daniel glanced up and noticed two more kids walking in.
They came in a few minutes apart, obviously not knowing each other. The boy ran in, seeing the group of students already there and was happy to introduce himself. "Hi Everyone! I'm Joey!" Joey's hair was standing up like he had just been holding on to an electric fence, but he was as happy as ever.
The girl seemed almost invisible when she came in. She didn't make a sound or go toward the other students. In fact, she seemed to be trying her hardest to avoid them. If Daniel hadn't of been paying attention, he wouldn't have noticed that dark haired girl enter the door and go sit at a table as far from the others as possible.
It seemed like it would take time for her to open up to the other kids, but she would have plenty of time if she stayed with this school. Especially since she would need to start practicing her powers and talking more about them. Overall, the class seemed to be full of different kids with different abilities. Daniel couldn't help but think how... Interesting the classes were going to be.
Liz laughed when the two other kids walked in, one saying that he was 'The Blaze' and the other being quick to say no. She almost felt sorry for him and wanted to call him Blaze, but she wasn't sure if she should call him that or Ryan.
Then another kid came in, who quickly said his name was Joey. "Hi. I'm Liz." Liz hoped that that was the last time she would have to introduce herself. She didn't mind telling people who she was, but doing a few times in a row got a little old pretty fast.
"My name's Mai." The girl with sea-foam green hair said. "You already know Ryan. He's my step-brother. Please ignore anything he says about calling him Blaze. And he'll do it a lot, just letting you know."
Turning to the flame haired boy, she said, "And Ryan. Remember what Virginia said. No yelling while either in a building or in a public place. And this classifies as both." While she was talking, another another boy with hair startlingly styled like Ryan's except lighting yellow. In the corner though, another girl sat down. It reminded her of her own personality.
"Remember, inside voices." The violet eyes girl said before leaving the group and walking over, sitting down in the chair next to the quiet girl. "Name's Mai." She said in her toneless voice, at least trying to put emotion into it.
~~*~~
"I'm Jazz."
"I'm Jaza." The twins said, smiling at the new boy. "This is Alex."
They were about to say more when another guy walked in, his size instantly indicating he was an adult.
"Welcome, students!" The male said. He had golden-brown hair and his eyes were an explosion of blue and green, like a nebula. "Daniel, according to my count, all students are present. We can begin the say!"
The man didn't look like a teacher according to his dress, which was a long sleeve plaid shirt with a pair of jeans. However, from the way he spoke, he clearly was a teacher, and one of theirs,
Joey ran his hand through his hair, trying to flatten it out a bit to look more presentable. Usually it was flatter and more tame, but before he had left his home that morning, there had been an accident with a few of the appliances. When Joey got excited, and he was very excited for school, his powers tended to act up.
Joey looked at the other boy, who had hair sticking up like his, and looked him over. "Wait, you want to be called Blaze?" Joey paused a moment, thinking what that could mean. Obviously it had something to do with fire, so that kid probably had powers dealing with fire. He tried to keep a serious face as he thought, but he ended up with a huge grin. "That is so cool! I wish I had a cool nickname like that!"
^*^
Aura watched the group of students talking to each other, but felt no need to go over and join them. She then noticed that one of them had broken away from the group. And was heading toward her. Aura watched the girl through chocolate brown eyes as she walked over and sat beside her. Odd. Most other kids just ignored her. W
hat was even weirder was the way that the girl spoke. She wasn't loud and excited like most other kids their age. Instead she seemed just as quiet and emotionless as Aura usually was. Aura quickly came to the conclusion that this student wasn't that bad. She nodded slightly to the girl. "I'm Aura..."
While she thought about whether or not she needed to say more, another teacher walked through the door, pulling everyone from their previous conversations. Aura couldn't help but be slightly relieved. It wasn't that she didn't want to talk to the girl, it was more like she didn't really know how to talk to the girl. Aura didn't have much experience with new people.
^*^
Daniel had started writing once he sat down at his desk. Spread out across his desk, but hidden from others around the room by stacks of books at the edges of his desk, were multiples files with different names on them. The names of each of the students.
He had started making notes in the files, for future reference, and he was sure that he would be adding many more notes to each file. When the time came to train their powers, he wanted to make sure that each student got help how they needed it.
Daniel had known of the man's presence before he entered the room. It was something that he had learned while trying to master his powers. By extending his senses through the shadows around him, he could use them further away. Of course, by using one of his senses in the shadows, he would have to give that up where he was already at. Meaning, if he wanted to see a different room in the building, he wouldn't be able to see what was in the room around his physical body.
Over the years, it had become a habit of his to at least have one of his senses extended to places beyond his immediate surroundings. When the other teacher had entered, Morker let out a caw and he glanced up, setting his pen down.
He stood and walked around his desk to stand in the front of the room. "Take a seat kids, we are going to start class." He nodded to the other teacher in the room. "You may start things off if you want to, Chase."
"Oh it would be my pleasure, Daniel." Chase said, turning to the kids. By now, everyone had taken their seats and had quieted down, all staring intently at the front. Most of them had grouped together, all sitting in one section, but there were two students, both girls, that sat in the corner farthest from the door and the front of the classroom.
"So according to my charts," at this, Chase looked pointedly at Daniel, who he knew was probably thinking 'You actually read the charts?' before continuing, "So I know who all of you are, including your powers. However, of course as the teachers we have to make things hard on the students so I'm going to call each one of you up individually so you can say your name, powers, and try to demonstrate them without destroying the classroom.
"For example, I shall go first. My name is Chase and I have the power of voice. And to Daniel, who so nicely volunteered, I shall demonstrate." Without waiting, Chase turned to Daniel, who was more then likely about to protest, before saying, "Daniel, do a tap dance and 'bawk' like a chicken."
Daniel stood up a little straighter when he heard Chase say that he had volunteered. He shook his head slightly saying, "No.." In a warning tone. However, at the end of the word, he couldn't help but let out a bawking sound. He put his hand over his mouth, effectively stopping any sound from coming out. At that point, he felt his feet beginning to tap. He didn't seem to be in control of his body, but he quickly regained control of himself after realizing what he was doing.
Once he was in control again, and the small chorus of laughter had died down, he shook his head and cleared his throat, letting out a good-natured chuckle. He had grown used to Chase's shenanigans in the short time he had worked there.
"Well I guess it's my turn now. My name is Daniel and I have the ability to control shadows and darkness." He thought for a moment, trying to decide exactly how to show his powers. "Some of the things I can do is move through shadows or make things from shadows."
After finishing speaking, he walked back toward his desk and turned on a lamp, creating a shadow from the books. He put his hand in the shadow and when he moved it away, he held a dark mass in his hand, as if he was holding onto a ball. The dark ball began to swirl around before taking a shape. Once it became still again, the shape, having two long ears, a small cotton tail, and large back feet, leaped from his hand and began racing around the room before finding shadows under the desk and plunging into them, disappearing again.
As the small shadow rabbit returned to the shadows, a new person walked into the room. She had a small smile on her face and looked happy to be there. It was obvious she was a teacher, but it had been strange that she would be late. Daniel, upon seeing the new person enter the room, gestured toward her. "Oh good, you decided to stop by. Everyone, this is Iris, the school nurse."
Iris watched Daniel as he spoke, nodding slightly after he was finishing speaking. She walked up to the front of the room as he continued to speak, though directly to her instead of the class. "We were just demonstrating our powers to the class. Would you like to join us?"
With an eager nod, Iris walked over to Chase, grabbing his hand with a firm grip. She took the flower from her shirt, which had been held on by a small needle, and pressed it against his hand. Without looking to see if he had any protests, she dragged the needle across the back of his hand, creating a thin line of blood.
After holding out Chase's hand for the class to see, she put her hand over the scratch that she had made. She closed her eyes and held it there for a few seconds before moving her hand to show that nothing was there anymore.
Once she was done, Daniel explained to the class, "Her power is healing, which is why she is the school nurse. However, she is also deaf, so if you speak to her, make sure that she is looking at you so she can understand you." Daniel then gestured to Chase to call up the next student while Iris stepped back, releasing Chase from her grip and waiting to see what the students could do.
First Generation Kindergarten Empty Re: First Generation Kindergarten
Chase grinned as Daniel started to protest, knowing that it was useless. No one could resist the power of his persuasion. Except for the school nurse, Iris, and that was only because she was deaf. Although he had confidence that if she ever turned evil (very unlikely since she was practically as gentle as the flower for which she was named), his sonic scream could work on her. A brick couldn't obey his voice, but vibrations would certainly crack it nonetheless.
Once the sounds of laughter had died down from the children, Daniel introduced himself before making a rabbit out of shadows and making it hop around the room.
The children shrieked in delight as the black bunny danced around their heads before leaping into one of the shadows under a desk.
Just when Chase was about to call up a student -he already had one in mind- but was disrupted when someone else walked in. As he turned, his grin faded for an instant into one of annoyance before the grin returned. If one hadn't been paying very close attention, they wouldn't have seen it at all and even then probably thought they had imagined it.
"Hello, Iris." He said dryly when the healer's gaze slid over him so that she could see what he said. Daniel explained to her what they were doing and asked if she would demonstrate. To this, she showed a little too much enthusiasm when she scurried over to Chase and slid a needle down his palm.
He flinched a little, violently cursing her in his mind. Curse this little deaf minx! He thought yet maintaining his lit up expression for the children. It only hurt for a few seconds before the pain vanished as she slid her fingers over the wound and it magically sealed shut.
The children released sounds of 'oohs' as they stared in wonder. As Iris dropped his hand, Chase managed to glare daggers through his brilliantly colored eyes while keeping up the cloud of amusement and turning to the children.
"Now, do we have any volunteers?" He asked the class. Instantly, all hands but two shot up, the two belonging to the girls in the back. "Hmm, let's see, you! The girl with the black hair in the back. You're up first!"
First Generation Kindergarten Empty Re: First Generation Kindergarten
Iris sat down at an empty table near the front of the room. She would have stood back with the other two teachers, but she had to be in a place where she could understand what the students were saying. She didn't mind sitting where other students were supposed to sit either.
Daniel was leaning against his desk, having pushed some of the books back to clear a space he could lean on. Morker had also become more interested in the events that were occurring. He had moved from his perch and decided to sit on Daniel's shoulder, where he could get a better view of the new students.
Aura, not wanting to be called up at all, couldn't help but sink deeper into her seat as the teacher called her up. The students dropped their hands, some groaning with disappointment and, to be honest, Aura felt like groaning along with them. She had no desire, though she had no choice either, to go up in front of the class and talk to them or show off her 'powers'.
With a slight sigh, she rose from her seat and walked with her head down toward the front of the class. When she reached the front, she was all too aware of the teachers and students looking expectantly at her. Not wanting to spend more time than she needed to in front of everyone, she mumbled, just loud enough for the others to hear, "My name is Aura and I can copy other people's powers."
She turned to Chase and pleaded with him, "Do I have to show my powers? That doesn't usually go well..." The fact that she was shy wasn't what was stopping her from displaying her powers. Any time she tried to use them or accidentally used them, it didn't usually turn out well for the other person involved. She had never killed anyone, but there was the chance that she could.
